Session description for NAGC:

A pattern of misconceptions in the recent literature, concerning several core concepts of Kazimierz Dabrowski’s theory of positive disintegration (TPD), illustrates a need for conceptual clarification. Based on a comprehensive review of the literature, the presenter describes the origins and empirical foundations of Dabrowski’s theory, identifies key concepts of TPD, and addresses the errors in how they have been interpreted. Participants gain insight into the concordance between Dabrowski’s original works and Michael Piechowski’s elaboration of the theory within the field of gifted education.
